Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 12, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what data KlydeLabs ("we", "us") collects when you use our website and services ("the Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
2. Data We Collect
- Account information: name, email, password hash (or third-party sign-in identifier), and account preferences.
- Uploaded media: the videos, audio files, and any related metadata you submit for processing.
- Generated content: clips, transcripts, subtitles, chapters, summaries, titles, descriptions, scores, and related artefacts produced from your uploads.
- Billing and subscription data: plan, subscription status, and billing-period information, plus the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers. Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe and are never stored on KlydeLabs servers.
- Usage metrics: the number of uploads and the total processing time (the combined duration of the videos you submit) per billing period. We track processing time to monitor fair use of your plan (see our Terms). These are counts and durations, not the content itself.
- Usage and diagnostic data: log timestamps, IP address, browser and device information, request paths, error traces, and other telemetry needed to operate and secure the Service.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To process your uploads and generate AI outputs you request.
- To create, authenticate, and maintain your account.
- To manage subscriptions, payments, invoices, refunds, and dunning.
- To improve the Service, debug issues, and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To communicate with you about your account, billing, or service notices.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
4. Third-Party Processors
To operate KlydeLabs we share only the data necessary with the following providers:
- Stripe — payment and subscription processing. Stripe receives your billing details; we receive only customer/subscription identifiers and status.
- OpenAI — audio transcription and AI text generation. To produce your transcripts, clips, summaries, titles, and similar outputs, your uploaded audio and the resulting transcript text are sent to OpenAI's API.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — the servers that run KlydeLabs and store your uploads and generated outputs.
- Email delivery provider — transactional and account notifications.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — bot and abuse protection on our sign-in, sign-up, and upload forms. To verify you are a real person, Turnstile may collect device and network signals (such as your IP address and browser characteristics) and process them on Cloudflare's infrastructure. It does not use this information for advertising. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details.
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — aggregate usage analytics that help us understand how visitors use our website (for example, which pages are viewed and broad device/region information). We use Google Analytics 4, which does not log or store full IP addresses. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
- Google Ads (Google LLC) — we run ads on Google and use Google's advertising cookies (
ad_storage,ad_user_data,ad_personalization) to measure ad conversions (for example, knowing that a click on our ad led to a signup) and to enable basic remarketing. These cookies are governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Ads Data Processing Terms. Visitors in the EU/EEA/UK are asked for consent before any advertising cookies are set; visitors elsewhere may opt out at any time (see Cookies & Browser Storage below).
Some processing runs entirely on our own servers and is not sent to any third party — including word-level subtitle alignment (WhisperX), speaker analysis, and prosody/audio analysis. We do not sell your data.
Each third-party processor applies its own privacy and security policy to data it receives.
5. AI Processing & Model Training
We use AI to provide the Service. Your uploaded media and its transcript are processed by OpenAI's API and by models we run ourselves, for the sole purpose of generating the outputs you request (clips, transcripts, subtitles, summaries, titles, and related suggestions).
We do not use your uploads, transcripts, or generated content to train AI models — neither our own nor third parties'. We do not sell your content. Generated outputs are produced on your behalf for your use.
6. User Content in Uploads
You are responsible for any personal data of third parties contained in the media you upload (for example, the voices, faces, or names of guests in your recordings). You must have a lawful basis to upload such data and to allow KlydeLabs and its processors to transcribe, generate clips from, or otherwise process it.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep each category of data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, then delete it. Our retention periods are:
- Account information (name, email, login): for the life of your account. When you delete your account, it is removed promptly (typically immediately, and within 30 days from any residual backups).
- Uploaded media and generated content (videos, audio, clips, transcripts, subtitles): stored while your account is active, until you delete them. You can delete the files for any upload at any time from the Uploads page, and deleting your account removes them all.
- Billing & tax records (invoices, transactions, subscription history): retained for at least 7 years to meet U.S. and California tax and financial-record obligations, even after account closure.
- Payment card details: never stored by us — handled by Stripe (a PCI-compliant processor). We keep only Stripe customer and subscription identifiers.
- Usage & fair-use metrics (upload counts, processing minutes): retained while your account is active to operate the Service and monitor fair use, and removed when you delete your account.
- Server and application logs: up to 30 days, then automatically deleted.
- Support communications: up to about 2 years, for dispute resolution and quality.
You can delete your account and all associated data yourself at any time from the Settings page (or by contacting us). On deletion we cancel any active subscription and permanently remove your content and personal data, except records we are required to keep by law (such as the billing and tax records noted above).
8. Cookies & Browser Storage
KlydeLabs uses browser storage for two purposes:
- Strictly necessary (always on): a short-lived access token in local storage and a long-lived refresh token in a secure HttpOnly cookie keep you signed in. These cannot be turned off.
- Analytics & advertising cookies (Google Analytics & Google Ads): cookies such as
_gaand Google Ads measurement cookies are used to understand how the site is used and to measure ad effectiveness. Visitors in the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland are shown a consent prompt before any of these cookies are set; they are off by default until you accept. For visitors elsewhere (including the United States) these cookies are active by default in accordance with applicable law — you may opt out at any time by clicking "Opt out" in the cookie notice, or by clearing this site's cookies and storage in your browser.
We do not sell your data. You can clear all browser storage at any time, but clearing sign-in data will sign you out.
9. Security
We apply industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized account access.
10. Your Choices & Rights
- Update your profile and preferences from the Settings page.
- Manage your subscription and payment method from the Billing page.
- Delete the media and generated files for any upload from the Uploads page.
- Delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings page.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA (including access, portability, correction, and erasure). We honor these requests as required by applicable law.
11. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than the one in which you reside. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses to govern these transfers.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Service. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
